One of the simplest ways to make money fast is to set up a blog. WordPress.com and Blogger.com allow a person to set up a blog for free. Once the blog is up and ready, one just has to add Google Adsense to it. Random advertisements will then appear on the blog; when a person visiting the blog clicks on an ad, the blog owner will get a small commission.

The key to making money this way is to get lots of blog visitors. If you use Google Adsense, you cannot click on your own blog ads; Google will register this and pull the ads from your site. Getting visitors is the part that takes work. No one wants to come to a blog that is comprised almost solely of ads. The blog must be interesting and engaging. It must provide value and information to the reader and it must stand out from the millions of other blogs out there that use Google Adsense.  Many bloggers have turned to WordPress plugins such as PHPBay Pro in order to boost their online income. These plugins automate the process of getting related products on your page from Amazon or Ebay.

A well written blog also takes work to maintain. A person has to keep updating it regularly in order to get people coming back and recommending the site to others. The good news is that a person that is willing to do the hard work of maintaining a blog will always make at least some money off of it.

If the blog is centered around a product or service, then one can expect to make more money off of it than if it were a personal blog. Sure, people make money off of personal blogs, but more money is made from product and service blogs, as people are searching for products and services all the time, and most people than ever make their final buying decision based on reviews they read online.

If you are an affiliate marketing newbie, start out promoting something that you are familiar with and, even better, something that interests you.
