affiliate networks
In the world of affiliate marketing, there is no shortage of affiliates, advertisers and affiliate networks. For affiliates, this is great – access to more networks means access to more advertisers, which translates into a greater range of options for promoting affiliate offers.

After you decide what type of product you want to promote, you need to find an affiliate network that fits your needs. But how do you go about finding the best affiliate network for your niche? There is no one-size-fits-all affiliate network; in fact, each one typically specializes in a certain area of affiliate marketing. Of course, there are large-scale networks like Share A Sale and Commission Junction that offer a broad range of advertisers. But on the other end of this spectrum, there are smaller, more specialized networks that focus on one niche and excel. Affiliates interested in payday loan offers, for example, will find a network like Blue Global Media to fit their needs.

An affiliate interested in promoting health offers, on the other hand, may do well by joining a network like Sell Health. The point is this: you can’t just pick any affiliate network and expect to do well. Think about it this way: if you were starting a job at a bank, you wouldn’t expect to get trained by the security guard. You would learn the ropes by those who are most interested in the same area of business.

The same goes for affiliate marketing. So before you join a network, determine what your niche and interests are. This shouldn’t be difficult – simply base your decision on the content and resources provided by your website, blog, email list or other customer-generation tool. If your site is primarily informational, it’s likely full of content like blog posts, articles and the like. You can scan your content and get an idea of what affiliate offers would best match what you provide on your site.

Once you have a good idea of what your site’s niche is, research affiliate networks and find ones that have similar advertisers and affiliates. Some networks give you an idea of what advertisers they work with prior to joining, while others don’t. There’s no harm in joining multiple networks, but just realize that the network you choose should reflect your niche, your goals and your interests as an affiliate marketer.
